batteries

When I use rechageable batteries with a key board they are fine. If I use them with the TV remote they don't work. Is it because they really have 1.2 not 1.5 volts and are not stronng eenough to do some heavier work?
My regular 1.5 store batts work with everything.

NiMh rechargeable batteries are considered 1.2vdc.
Most devices will run ok on the lower voltage..... some will not.

1.2 to 1.5 vdc is normal for AA and AAA batteries. Depends on the material they are made from, type and date of manufacture. AAs have a higher milliamp-hour rating than AAAs.

Thank you. I think it is the difference in the devices.
The obvious was under my nose.

There are some 1.5V rechargeable Lithium batteries available, I have no experience with them though.
