Update Device Driver Wizard message

I had to replace my modem. The only one I could find was not recognized by my computer when loading so I had to type in the driver address manually. No problem, it is obviously up and running or I couldn't be sending this e-mail. Now when I boot up I get the message that the computer has found some new hardware and up pops the "update device driver wizard".
I just click cancel and go my merry way...but it does slow me down. How can I eliminate that message...but only for
the new modem?
Thanks

sandy2000, Have you let the wizard walk you through an update? Sometimes we have to let Windows have its way...Mike

Windows has its way

Mike, Eureka! Simple yet effective. The "new hardware" message has disappeared. Thanks

Far better than hacking the registry which is the only other way I know to do it....Mike
