over the past few weeks my son was
complaining that he wasn't able to use
Direct Draw for some of his game programs
even by reinstalling our video card drivers
and then just a few days ago I noticed that
we were not able to change our display settings
from 640x480. is there any way to fix this problem.
Thanks
Alan

Sounds to me as though you have the incorrect video drivers installed for the card. You need to go to the manufacturer's website and download and install the correct drivers for your card. If your video displays are set to 640x480x16 colors and you cannot change it, incorrect drivers is most likely the problem.
