Outlook express Block Sender List?
Is there away to block all names that come from one domain address, is there a wild card I can put infront of the @domain.com address, that will block anyname @domain.com. Getting tired of the e-mail ads that come to me from the same dam domain name.

Who's your ISP? If the "*" wildcard doesn't work try "%","&", or "#" as these can wildcards in Unix. If you're on AOL or Hotmail you may be hosed if the domain is paying for the right to spam you.

Just thought of something else. If your mail software has filtering have anything from that domain automatically sent to a folder. That way you never see it. Then about once a month go in do a select all and delete.

I use a local ISP, would not be caught dead using AOL, I'll try the *@domainname.com and see if that stops all names comming from the address.
Thanks Ron

I have OI 6 so they may be a little different. Open up express, go to tools on the tabs above. Go down to message rules, slide over to the dropdowns, there you should see blocked senders on the list. Select it and a window appears, now highlight the name, domain, and the com and then click modify tab to the right.
Instructions will be there where you just take off the username and leave the domain name, so that anyone e-mailing you from that domain will go to your deleted items bin immediatly. Then you can click and delete them all at once. Could send them an e-mail to remove or unsubscribe, that works sometimes.

Have you tried playing with message rules in OE? there are serveral options you can choose for incomming messages that you can filter through and have them deleted. if the @domain.name is in the body any where you should be able to delete any and all messages from said domain. Hold that thought!
Was playing in OE and it seems that you can "block" mail from domains. go to tools, mail rules, blocked senders list. put the domain in the list and all should be golden....maybe.

If ur using OE, go into TOOLS/MESSAGE RULES/MAIL/click the Mail tab. When you get the drop down box, one of the options is DELETE MAIL FROM SERVER. That's what I do to the hardcore spam. I have one rule that searches for the key dirty words in porno and deletes it from the server without wasting my download time. Another option is to write a rule that sends all mail that is not addressed to me into a spam folder. Do that by clicking on "Where the To line contains people", enter your address like "joblo@domain.com", then click options. Select the option that says something like "Take action if the To line does not contain the name". That way only messages directed to your email address will get into your mailbox. You can write your rule then test it on mail in your inbox by clicking on Apply Rule. That way you can find out if the rule works and you don't lose mail that you may miss if your rule is buggy.
BTW, I have found that anything I put in my Blocked Senders list disappears each time I shut down OE. I have to make the senders name into a rule to keep it.
