Volume(speaker) missing

For some reason the speaker that is usually at the bottom right hand corner is gone it is not there at all. I don't know what happened to it. So now in order to turn the sound up or down I have to go into programs then into sound and video display to change it. Does any one have any ideas on how I can get that back?

Thank you BigMike. It is back, that was pretty easy. I couldn't figure that out for nothing.
