newsgroup RAM requirement
My computer has 64MB of RAM and I would like to know what limitations this imposes on newsgroup access.

Got RAM?
I don't have the exact figures on news group RAM usage, however you might want to go to http://www.crucial.com I learned more about RAM there and bought 3, 256MB sticks of RAM for $32.50 each, for all four of my computers. I know that is more than I need but I will never have to worry about having enough RAM. When the the prices go back up to normal, I could use 1 stick of 256MB RAM to power each Computer, and 2 new Computers. Now is the time to load your computers up with RAM and not just for today, but this price break on computer parts is not going to last forever. On Crucials web site they have a RAM finder. You just put in your brand and model # and up comes all the RAM you could ever need with prices, that and free S&H makes this place a real deal. Marturo

I accessed newsgroups on an Apple II with 64K of RAM. Newsgroups are all text based files unless you're using a web interface built by someone to make it easier. The RAM drag will be based on your newsreader program. If your using Outlook or Outlook Express then your should know all Microsoft products are memory hogs. Yet, what Wartski said is true. These memory prices can't last forever so stock up while its cheap.
