DeFrag not working?
Hi,
I own a gateway computer,with windows 98 (Pentium 1).
The Defrag is scheduled to start at 1:00Am,but doesn't seem to work as scheduled?It works Manually though.I looked at the schedule settings,they look o:k.Any ideas to get this working automatically?Thanks, Charlie

DeFrag notb working?
Hi,
Thanks for the reply..
The computer stays on all the time,but may go into the "sleep mode" at night.
Are the screen savers causing this not to work,if so what do I change to fix it?Thanks, Charlie

Ctrl/Alt/Del
Right click on the desktop. Select properties, screensaver and turn it off. MSN messenger off, Yahoo off, antivirus off. Do a Ctrl/Alt/Del and see what’s running. The only things you need running is ‘Systray” and “Explore” you can turn everything else off. When you re-boot all will be re-loaded…

I gave up with reserving a whole night for defrag...Which often stopped half way through!!
I ve used Norton utilities speeddisk for ages now and have never had any problems with it....Its really fast too..1 hour at the most!
