hello
before we got high speed i upgraded my computer to an
AMD 900 and everything worked like a charm but after installing
high speed sympatico my system sometimes locks up and i can only get the internet to run at 600 k/sec. i have a direct line running from the demarcation box and it doesn't matter what i do to change the connections is still cant get higher than 600. i am running windows 98se so i am not able to run IE6 only 5.5
any ideas on how to check for conflicting between my internet and my AMD and has anyone had similar problems/
Thanks Alan

Sure you can use Internet Explorer 6 with Windows 98 Second Edition. I have installed that on several Win 98SE machines.
Is this DSL you have for high-speed access? I have Earthlink, and I get a lousy 590K right now-that is FAST in comparison to what it is sometimes. How far away are you from the telco's distribution equipment? ~3 miles is the maximum, that is about where I am. I wish it was faster.
