damaged CD-RW disc
#1

This has me furious now, several weeks ago I copyied all of the files that needed to be kept off a computer before a reformat-reinstall, however, the trouble is that one of the discs in damaged-not scratched, but digitally screwed. I had to work on one of the files on the disc, and after saving my work twice, the disc was starting to tie up the system, Win XP gave me a message that the disc was damaged and all files should be copied to a new disc.
The disc cannot be opened, the computer freezes, and I am no further ahead. This disc had all sorts of files, I know from now on working on files stored on a CDRW that are the only copy is a nono.
Is there any way to salvage the situation? I had all sorts of one-time files on there I cannot get again from elsewhere.]
.Any help would be good help
