Format

Pop in your 98 startup disk and go to Fdisk. You want to remove any partitions and then format again.

If you FDISK you will destory all data on that disk. Try reformatting the partition using FAT32.

Are you trying to setup a dual-boot configuration with a later OS?

Now I took this as if you were formatting the drive as a single drive, if it is NTFS on one partition and FAT 32 on another then do what Bryan says, if not then just delete the NTFS partition and format FAT 32.
