printing contents of floppy

Does anyone know of an easy way to print a listing of the files contained on a floppy, or within a folder on a hard drive. PC Tools used to do so in a snap, but pc tools is no more...

Go to an MSDOS prompt in the directory of interest, type:
DIR>FILE.TXT

open that file in notepad and print it,
or:

DIR>PRN

will direct it directly to the printer.

LPT-1 is gone

I consider myself pretty proficient at troubleshooting my computer, but this one has me stumped. I installed a 2nd NIC card for my DSL line, but in doing so I had a conflict with system resources. To free up resources I disabled my LPT-1 port, and now it doesn't show up at all in "system devices". I went to go back to enable it but its gone. Where is it and how can I get it back? Mac Problem

My wife has chosen to drive a Mac. We recently bought a scanner from a friend, but have not been able to get the system to recognize it and since I am not particularly familiar with SCSI devices I'm not quite sure where to go next. I have played with the addresses a little, but no luck. Coincidentally, while messing with this, I had need to use my floppy drive which also didn't recognize a disk in place. (I don't even remember the last time we needed it.) Is there a relationship here I should know about? Any suggestions? Grandma in Alaska would love to get some pics...Thanks.Read More
