Unhappy

Anyone,

I was wondring what steps I need to take to replace a harddrive in a PC workstation that is running Win3.x The computer is Networked so how sould I remove it from the network without dropping the whole network? Oh yeah it is a Bus style Network. Other than removing the PC from the network. I actually know how to physically set the drive in the tower(believe it or not) and what plug to plug in and where the #1 pin is and all. I just need to know the technical side of it.Like what I do after I set the drive in place and go to hit the power on the switch. What do I do from here?????
Thanx

Cool

I don't know what a "Buss" type network is. Peer to peer or do u have a hub set up? I would think just remove the computer from the server and then take it off line for drive. Let me know and I will fing out what to do. Network here is just remove it from the server.

I'm no expert, but I think Big Mike is correct. If you haven't started up your PC, then odds are the network doesn't know it exists. The machines have to ping the server to let it know they exist. Be sure to back up EVERYTHING on the local PC. Norton Ghost is good for this. That's all I can offer.
