My daughter uses an older Packard Bell 486 Computer that was purchased with Windows 3.1 and Packard Bell Navigator installed. In 1996 we updated to Windows 95. After installing and deleting many programs through the years some things weren't working exactly as they should - but nothing serious. Yesterday she tried to fix things using the "Restore" disk that came with the computer. Everything went fine until she came to a prompt to install the Master CD. It was then that she found the master CD was cracked. Where do we go from here. It boots up but when she entered WIN at the C prompt she got the message "Bad command or file name." Has Windows been deleted?
Any advice?

Sounds like, at a minimum, you need to find someone with the Win 95 Upgrade CD and setup disk.

You probably corrupted some of the system files, and now Win95 won't run.

I had a problem with a corrupted vxd file last week that took 2 hours, two hard drives, and a Superdisk to fix.
