Copy a program?

Prior to upgrading my computer I had a program on the old PC that I had downloaded. That program is
no longer available on the net or by CD (never was available on CD per the Company). Is there anyway to copy the program itself to my new PC?

Depends on the program. If it is Windows based, probably not becasue you would not have the necessary install files to tell Windows the program was there, etc. You might do some extensive web searching for old, obsolete programs. There are sources for a surprising number of old programs.

If it is a dos based program you should be able to copy the files over toyour new machine. This may involve using a zip program (i.e. winzip) in order to make the move easier (I'm assuming you don't have a cd burner which would make it much easier, of course than a floppy).

What is the program in question?

You could also use a direct cable connection between the two computers to transfer files.
