Lightbulb advice welcomed

Hi all, I would like some input on Idea's you would do with this mess I have. Should I lay pavers, step pads, or cement it etc

First off, Slicer, WELCOME to what is probably the best site on the web.

Your mess -- I would probably settle for just a concrete sidewalk. Obviously the 2X4's and rock thing didn't work. Pavers would be a step up, but all of that snow on the ground (and I'm sure the photo was taken on one of the better days!) shows me that frost heave might be an issue. Concrete and maybe a liitle rebar should be able to overcome that.

Of course, there is stamped concrete, colored concrete, exposed aggregate -- you don't have to settle for just flat, gray, concrete.

Another option might be a ground level deck for the walkway. I think if it were me, and I decided to go that route, I would use one of the composites for the decking. Just get the footings down so that frost is not an issue.

hmm, thanks for the interesting Idea's

I'm leaning towards the stamped concrete, now I need to figure some costs.
