i am building a house on long island new york, with a fairly large deck. i have cedar at my present home, and am tired of the yearly upkeep i have been looking at both the composite decking (plastic and sawdust), as well as the all plastic decking (ecoboard) does anyone have any experience (good or bad) with these materials. i am leaning toward the all plastic, at about 2.50 per foot, but have concerns that it expands/contracts about 1/4'' for every plus/minus 30 degrees (length-wise), and what happens to the stainless screws after a year or two from this constant movement. do they loosen. thanks

Hokay, I'm having to wade through a lot of "chaff" here :). I've done several searches of the forum, but there have been so many questions asked on the subject that there's *too* much information! Is there a "how to do it" site somewhere, or a FAQ that I can refer to? The main tip I've come across seems to be that Bleach Is A Bad Thing. And that Oxalic Acid is a Good Thing ;). Power washing can be a Good Thing (or a Bad Thing if your tip comes off and gouges the surface like a rifle bullet :D) but you can also use stiff brushes. Which is a Good Thing as I don't want to have to fool with a power washer. Acrylic/water based stains are a Bad Thing (I had already surmised that) and Oil based stains are a Good Thing ... and so it goes. So ... Good site recommendations for reference?
