What to seal flagstone with???

Can someone tell me what to use to seal my Flagstone on my patio and whats teh best method to apply the sealant? I am using the uncut, irregular shaped flagstone, with dry stonedust packed in the joints between them..

In terms of sealing the stone, most sealers will seal in the moisture and will not allow the stone to naturally "breathe." Some sealants may also discolor the stone. Probably one of the biggest disadvantages to sealing is that you will have to re-seal every couple of years, with the periodic need to strip and reseal again. There are some impregnators that you can put down that will allow the stone to breath, will not discolor the stone, but again will be high-maintenance.

***Finishes are normally used INSIDE away from sun, wind and rain. Typically, finishes are hard to repair and must be stripped or re-coated. They also lack vapor permeability.***
