Joist length between girders?

Looked in the code books and found the max joist span for 2X6 joist carrying a 40# load is 9feet, 9inches. I am using Trex 2X6 boards over joist on this yet to be built deck.
I know Trex is heavier then lumber and have planned my 2X6 joist spans to be 8feet between 4X6 girders. Girder post (4X4's) are spaced @ 5feet, 4inches apart.
Now I am wonderin whether my joist spans (8feet) are too long for the weight of the Trex veener. I want to stay from bounce as well.
Any advice will be more then welcome.

thanks,
george

Any reason you can't use 2X8's for the joists? It's more of a standard for your deck and would eliminate the bounce you probably will get with 2X6 joists.
