Deck footings

I am putting in a new deck which is on a slight grade but am having a tough time deciding how to solidify the foundation.

Would it be possible to dig 42" down and fill with packed limestone instead of cement when putting in your posts?

The posts would sit in a brace on top of the footing and it sounds easier to use limestone instead of cement.

Thanks

labatt47,

I've thrown in 1 bag of concrete mix let this sit for a day and the insert post. Fill with p-gravel up to or just below grade. This is easy and allows for any adjustment required. Exccellent for drainage away from 4x4.

Good Luck!
