Cool pool deck design

My girlfriend and I are building a deck by her pool and it is a little complicated.because of the shape. We have a drawing of the plans and have the ground marked out where we plan to build but are not certain on the best way to go about it. Is it best to dig holes for the support post or use the concrete ground blocks designed for decks that sit on the ground? I can fax or email a copy of the plans if there is anyone with experience building decks out there that could give us some advice. Thanks in advance......Randy

Randy,

E-mail me what you have and where you live.

The conccrete pier blocks is not my preferred method for installing a deck that is around a pool. Various issues will determine what you can do as well as local building codes.

Let me know.

Question Pool deck

I'm wondering if you could email me a copy of your deck plan?I am in the process of being a new( above ground pool -24' x 52"round)owner and was interested in some different deck ideas.Me and my husband will be building the deck ourselves so I am doing alot of research. We have built a deck off the back of our home but a pool deck I'm sure is going to be more difficult....Any ideas from anyone would be greatful.violetrose@mvn.net.

violetrose35,

I don't give plans out and even then it wouldn't help based on your site conditions and what you have.

I am assuming that you will have to submit drawings to the City for a permit. Based upon those drawings, it will include specifics, site plan survey, plan laout, cross sections, Code compliant notes, etc. These I can do for you but this is my business.

I can however provide you these links...
