Help with Patio Steps

We are wanting to put in a patio outside of our back door.
We have a very small wooden landing outside the back door leading
to the ground. The landing is maybe 3 ft. long then has 2 steps
going to the ground.
Is there anyway that we can use this as a base for our patio steps?
I would like to be able to cover it with bricks/pavers, but cannot
find any information on how to do something like this.
Is it even possible???
Thanks.

hayesb2,

Leaving anything wood under brick pavers is asking for trouble. The wood will rot and then everything above it will sink. You need a good base for pavers. Is this what you are thinking?
