Help hiding an outside basement door/opening?

I'm hoping some of the experts here can help me. I was contemplating replacing a deck with a larger patio (w/ pavers) but one obstacle remains is a walk-down basement outside door that is about 4'x5' that slopes. The entry way will be unsightly to the new patio. Hiding it w/ shrubbery is difficult and it needs to be openable 1-2x per year if needed.

Can anyone recommend an idea to camoflauge or cover this with that is somewhat easy to remove. One idea was make a small cover w/ pillows but i'm hoping for alternate ideas. thanks in advance!

How about a piece of lattice work with some removable flower boxes with airy, sprawling plants? Make a frame for the lattice so it would lie on the doors, mount removable flower boxes on it, pots with airy, sprawling plants.

thanks. i'll definately pass that by my wife

I'm thinking also perhaps i buy/build a park-like bench to cover the low end of the opening and have a removable flowerbed bed behind that to make it visually appealing.
