Question Water seals

Is a water sealer (i.e. Thompsons) all I need to use when I'm all done building a deck, or should I use the water sealer and a stain afterwards? Should the order of use be the sealer then stain, or the other way around?
Your help is much appreciated.

Geeman,

search back through this forum (go back at least one or two days!!), and I'm sure that you will figure out our opinion of the Water Seal that you mentioned. Go back a couple of weeks and you have probably outdone its shelf life!!

Spend the few extra dollars and get a quality product (Cabot's, Silkens, Wolman, SuperDeck are the ones that come to mind). Stain (or clear), UV protectant, and 'water seal' all in one. You new deck will love you for the little extra that you put into it!!
