Deck Design

I am wanting some information and possibly some design input on building a deck that will support a hot tub. The problem is, I am wanting to build an 8 X 15 foot deck, that suspends 8 feet in the air, off a second story balcony, which also doubles as a patio cover. Is this feasible. If at all possible, on one side, I need to be able to build the 15 foot span without a brace pole in the center. Any input as to where I could get a design for this project would be much appreciated. Should I consider having a steel frame and support legs be built, or can this be done with wood?

Sounds like you need to talk to a structural engineer or architect. Depending on your local permits office (my county for example), you may be required to have a professional eng. signature and load analysis on the deck if you're putting a tub on it, so you might as well start there.
