Stain on deck

Just bought a new house which has a (pressure treated lumber) wooden deck, which has been stained with redwood stain. On one of the boards is white crystal like stuff, which not matter what I use to clean it, doesn't go away. It appears to be somewhat sticky when wet, but still crystalizes when it's dry. Any ideas what this might be or what I can use to clean it up! There are no trees above this deck...I thought it was sap myself.

Hello woobiekins

Sounds to me like either salts from the treatment surfacing or sap from undercured wood, but rather than have you accepting this rather uneducated guess, I'm going to move this post over to the Decks, Patios and Porches Forum where I'm sure that Doug or others can help you

Good Luck

Howie
