Stripping old deck stain

I added on to my deck last year. I now have a two-tone deck; several years of stain build up and one coat of cedar colored stain. My question is: How do I remove the old stain and start over so that my deck boards match somewhat? Will sanding the old deck boards remove the stain? Thanks.

Sanding can work, if you don't sand the galv. finish off all your nails/screws.

For stripping go here:
