ipe decking attachment systems

have been reading other posts about different systems and need advice. some systems need the pregrooved boards and it looks like the tiger claw does not. i also read someone who used a biscuit cutter instead of the pregrooved boards. my question is how do these systems compare with ease and costs. we will be doing the deck ourselves. it will be 12x28 and about 5' off the ground at its highest. (4' at the house and the land slopes down). thanks in advance/

Working with Ipe is going to require predrilling if you don't go with a hidden fasten system, I've seen it done a biscuit cutter, seems very time consuming to me compared to just going with a composite material used in conjunction a hidden fastener system designed for the product. Just my .02¢.
