We're in the process of replacing our front walkway. Originally it consited of roughly 3 inch of fine gravel. Our plan is to replace the gravel with pavers. So far we have removed the gravel and excavated to roughly 9" bellow the grass line. (The idea being to fill 6" of base gravel followed by 1" of gravel and the the 2.25" pavers (leaving 0.25" for settling)). After excavating the path we had a heavy rain which quickly filled the hole very quickly. My questions are: once the path is complete, where does this water go? Will I have drainage issuses now because we're using pavers? What happens in winter when this water freezes. We're in the middle of this project now so any help would be most appreciate. I have a elevated deck off the back of my house, which underneath gets no sunlight therefore resulting in absolutely no grass growth which then results into mud when it rains. Here's the problem: My septic tank is under the deck, So I am limited to what I can put down to where I can still dig up my tank to get it pumped out when needed. Got any ideas of what I can place down but still allow easy access to the septic tank. I was thinking mulch or gravel of some type??
