Paver deck for Hot tub

I will be putting in a Paver deck for a hot tub, can anyone tell me what the recommended compacted base thickness should be? The tub is 8x8

I would make it minimum 6" thick.

Just finished my deck using PT 5/4"X6" as decking boards. Should I use a protection sealant (water-proofer, Thompsons for example)right away or should I wait for a year...? I live in Quebec, Canada. Thanks Cyrus
