replacing plate under sliding patio door
Can anyone give advise on how to remove sliding patio door to replace rotted wood door is sitting on? This is a second story deck and the rain is pouring into the wall under the deck because the wood rotted out the door sits on and I can not remove the stationary door.

Door panels and frame must be removed along with interior and exterior trim and possibly siding surounding door frame depending on type of patio door and type of siding. New sill should be installed with proper flashing which is why your sill rotted in the first place. Then re-install all the above. If the door is not so great or old, it would be a good time to replace it.
