Cool Metal fire place on wood deck discoloured stain

Wife ;D bought a small fire pit which sits on 4 legs, has a screen. noticed this year that where it was located on the deck, appears to have all the stain removed. no burn marks or anything.

Perhaps these fire places should not be place on a wood deck? Anyone see an issue with this? Again, it just looks like the stain was removed by the heat, no other heat marks.

IDEA?

If I am asked about this when building a deck, I advise placing the fireplaces on a rock, block, brick or otherwise insulation base. It helps insulate the deck from the heat emitted from the bottom of the unit.
