Tiling Counter

I am going to tile an exterior counter on a patio adjacent to a pass-thru window from the kitchen. My concern is the counter will be somewhat flexible and was wondering if it is better to set the tiles with a mastik instead of the acrylic thinset. If a mastik is preferred, what would be a preferred mastik?

If the counter is "somewhat flexible", you will crack at least the grout joints and possibly the tiles. GET RID OF THE FLEX!!

Use corbels, cabinetry, or something else to support the countertop so that there is NO flex.
