cabot or Olympic?

I'm going w/ Cabot. I starting up my deck project any day now and did a lot of research and concluded Cabot is the way to go (for me). Sold Color stain.
Besides they a local company for me. (Mass,).
I tried their test products (little cans) and like the way it covers. But again, thats just me.

staining trex decking

has anyone had any experience staining trex decking and any recommended products? i am thinking of staining our entire 5 year old deck which has trex decking and PT posts rails and trex stiles and top cap to refresh it . i see there is a Cabot ?:" australian timber oil stain" which states it can be use for composite as well as PT. is this a bad idea or other products that might be better? thanks johnRead More

Wood Deck Alternatives - Roll on Stucco

I have a 10x20 deck that is attached to the back of my house. Underneath it is a storage room, that once held wood. It has a viranda style roof over it, and is supported by 4 6x6 wood beams. Now, my problem is waterproofing it. I currently have 3/4 tongue and groove plywood over the studs, then tar over that, tar paper over the tar, and then tongue and groove red pine decking, painted over to finish it off. Water is getting through this and rotting out the deck. So, Ive got 4 (Or More) options: - Re-do the tar and plywood, then more wood decking. - Composite (Fake) wood - Vinyl Decking - Roll-On stucco-style decking My current plan is to pull off the red pine decking, then put down 3/4 good one side fir, with the waterproof glue (Or 5/8 pressure treated plywood - which is better?). Once the plywood is down, I will finish it, and put that roll-on stucco type stuff made for decks. So, my question is: Of the above 4 options, which is the best (Considering price and other factors), and if I'm going to put plywood underneath whatever decking I choose, should it be 3/4 Good One Side Fir (With waterproofing glue), or 5/8 pressure treated plywood?
