Anyone recommend a brand and type of deck stain?

We had a deck built last year and I just recently power washed it and I am now looking to select a stain. It is a cedar wood and I would like to have something clear so I can see look of the cedar. Does anyone have any suggestions and tricks of the trade as I have never applied stain to a deck before.

Thanks in advance,

I am a big fan of Benjamin Moore. After a good cleaning and the need for maintenance through the life of the deck, it only makes sense to invest a few more bucks in a good quality stain/sealer. Plus, the advice and instruction gained from the dealer are invaluable. Stay away from the box store, go to the paint store.

Over the years here Cabot's & Sikkens tend to be most favored.

I've heard that too... both are good brands.

I use both Cabot's and Sikkens in a professional capacity
Cabot's usually has clear instructions for DIYers
Follow the instructions...especially for prep, moisture, and application
