Turning Veneer Furniture into Outdoor Furniture

I have 2 wenge veneer benches that are meant for indoor use, but I would like to make them suitable for our outdoor deck. I like the current color and look. Is there a way to coat it to make it sustainable for the outdoors?

Welcome to DoItYourself.com and the Deck forum.

Not going to work. Moisture would cause the veneer to delaminate from its base wood.

Ya, I agree! You could coat every side/edge of them with multiple coats of spar urathane and even if you recoated them every 6 months - sooner or later the moisture would get to the veneer
