Deck paint???

Hello,

My 15 year old deck really needs a face lift. The deck itself is in pretty good shape, however due to a number of incomplete staining jobs... (both myself and a past owner) the stain is not consistent or look good.

I'd like to paint/stain the entire deck one dark, uniform color. Is deck paint an option? I'm a bit worried that if I use stain, it will not look uniform due to the existing conditions. I'm also concerned that paint may make the service slippery when wet.

Any ideas?? Thanks
Scott

Use a solid deck stain, it will cover well and won't peel like paint will.

Aren't you going to recommend pressure wash first, Mark?

I thouht it was a given that any exterior substrate should be relatively clean prior to painting. A pressure washer makes the cleaning easier but it can be done without one.
