Mogra,

Welcome to the forums.

What do you want the patio to be -- what do you want it to look like??

Pavers is one option. Decorative concrete (like cool deck) is another. Stamped concrete is still another. And just plain old broom finished concrete is yet another.

What is the weather like there in Scottland? I would probably recommend a stamped concrete patio.

Cantilevered cement patio on hillside

Does anyone have any ideas on the steps to build a cantilevered cement patio on a hillside.
Basically 11 feet in width by 8 feet deep. 5 feet on solid ground,3 feet cantilevered.
Does this have to be engineered or are there basic steps to produce this? Any replies are welcome.

With the desired cantilever, you can look at a precast option, then finish in tile - though not sure of the $$$. May also look at a sub-structure deck option.
