Decretive Porch posts (not structural)
I need help in figuring out how I can install 7' 4" X 4" decretive posts on either side of my front door cement porch. There is an overhanging roof and I cannot figure out
how to install the posts without damaging them or the roof.

yardbuff,
Welcome to the forums.
Since the posts and the roof are in place, you'll have to use decorative colums that are 2 pieces or more (split vertically) so that you can get them around the posts. The columns will sit on the floor and be an inch or so short of reaching the ceiling. Once they are anchored in place, you'll be installing trim rings (Also 2 pieces) at the top and the bottom.

"7' 4" X 4" decretive posts " ------- just fasten a pressure treated plate to the slab, or a p.t. 4x4 x 6" chunk to attatch the decorative posts to. If subjected to water splash you need 8" above slab with p.t.
