Sun Room roof window broken

I have a sun-room that is not manufactured anymore and the company is now non existent. A contractor looked at it and said $1500 to replace a single pane piece of glass that is 6'x2'. He says it will be that much because in order to install the new glass one side of the sun-room needs to be dissembled in order to fit the new piece of glass in then he needs to re assemble it.

Is this a fair price?

Also is this true that it needs to be taken apart?

Has anyone done this before and if so how difficult is it?

PLEASE HELP!

YIP!!

Welcome to the forums, and welcome to the world of sunrooms.

The ENTIRE ROOF will have to be taken apart to get to the broken pane of glass. If he's willing to do it for $1500, GO FOR IT!! You've got a bargain price!
