DIY Gazebo - Need hardware

I want to build my own Gazebo, like what you buy at KMart, Target, WalMart, etc. Most are 10 x 10. I want to make my own 12 x 12.

I plan to build wooden uprights but need to find a source for the metal "roof" supports. Looking for either round or square metal tube- corners, angle plates for fastening to wood, etc.

Any ideas?

Look at the Simpson Strong Tie items available at virtually any lumber yard. (Simpson Strong-Tie - Helping to Build Stronger, Safer Structures). Depending on where you're at they may carry US Steel rather than Simpson, but the line is almost as complete and work as well. The items are both code approved.

Not sure if they have what you want, but try McFeely's Square Drive Screws - Screws, Fasteners, Festool Power Tools and more too.

Roof

Fabricate a wood center block with the correct number of sides. Tell us how many sides and perhaps we can help with the angles.

Well, I am thinking very simple, 4 sided hip roof, I could go gable to even further simplify. I was hoping to make the entire "roof" part out of metal, thinking that would keep costs down, maybe not...

Here is how we do it, for a 4 sided hip roof. We use a milled 6x6 center post, with 8 sides, 4 for the hips and 4 for common rafters.

I was going to add a pic, but I don't see that option here, maybe I don't have enough posts.
