Question covering a waterproof lanai

I have a 23 x 24 foot area on the second story of my home which I would like to cover. The problem is that the floor of this area is a waterproof membrane (elastomeric) which has been covered with slate tile. I don't want to anchor into it for fear of causing leaks into my home which is below this balcony. There are 4 foot walls enclosing the balcony which I could use to stabilize posts but will this be enough? Any ideas for anchoring without penetrating the waterproofing?

I'm having some trouble visualizing this, can you post a picture or two?
