circular saw blade

can i use a 6 1/2" saw blade on a 7 1/4" circular saw

If the arbor hole is corect, yes. It just won't cut as deep. Why do you want to do this?

I've used the 6.5" blades on a skil saw before, the only reason I did so was it was the only size metal cutting blade I could get at the time. Unless the blade is free or the only one available, I don't see any benefit to using the smaller blade - but it will work providing it will mount up to the saw's arbor.

Is it even the right blade for the job you're trying to do? This sounds like you just don't want to buy a new blade
