As a prelude, I've belonged to a couple of other sites, but I really like the layout and structure of the different project areas on this site and was going to move over to this site. I have a project that has a small "quirk" that I just thought I'd run by the group. I'm building a patio cover that is more like a pergola in the fact that the structure will be open to the sky. So it is really more like building a deck eight feet up on a two-story house with joists sitting on a ledger board and a main beam (without the deck boards of course since it is just exposed 2x6 joists like a pergola). Since it won't bear weight (and won't get snow accumulation). So it doesn't need to be too fancy or run too close a span. But there is a bay window running up both stories of the house right about 15 feet into the 35 feet of project (ending at about 25 feet into the project). I'm wondering if that might impact the way I lay a joist across the ledger board? I'm thinking I can just bring my ledger board out and back for that 45-degree around between up upper and lower story bay windows and just maintain consistent 24" spaced joists running along the ledger to the beam. But I'm wondering if they even make a joist hanger for going around a 45-degree ledger board like that? Do you just have to manually seat those joists onto the ledger when you have an angle like that? Thanks

i started installing railing on may 32x15 concrete patio today. I used 2 3/4″ anchors and Simpson Strong-Tie ABA44Z 4×4 standoff post bases to get my posts connected with the concrete. when i was setting the anchors they seemed very tight and did not budge. but as soon as I started nailing the posts to the bases, the bases/anchors started to loosen up a little bit. since the sections i did today were only 6' long each and all touch a structure on one end, i will install L brackets to make these railings super sturdy. i still have one 32' long side to go and i am no worried that the method i was using today is not gonna be sturdy enough for this long part of the patio. does anyone have any advice on what anchors and bases i should use instead? thanks in advance...
