Problem with stain peeling on patio-questions on redoing the finish

I stained our concrete patio 4-5 years ago. The stain has begun to peel away. I have applied numerous cleaners and a paint remover. I have washed it with a 2800 psi pressure washer after each application but most of the stain is in contact. I really feel like I have removed as much of the stain as I possibly can.

What are my options to refinish the concrete? Can I reapply a different color stain? I have thought about priming and painting the slab, but I worry the underlying stain will still give away in the coming years and continue to peel. I appreciate any suggestions.

Did you use a red tip on the power washer? That's the only way to remove all of it.

Where did the stain peel? traffic areas or water run off? what type of stain was it?

The odds are that you can apply a solid concrete stain over the existing and have no issues although depending on why the stain peeled or wore off - those areas might fail again.
