What type of dumpster to rent?
Hi:
I've excavated about 10 yards of dirt (mostly clay) for a patio project. I'm finding that there are two kinds of dumpsters I can rent to remove the unwanted soil, a rolloff dumpster and one lifted by a crane. Can anyone suggest the pros and cons of these? This is a home project, and the dumpster would have to go on the driveway.
If it matters, I live in Pittsburgh.
Thanks.

You live in Pittsburgh and have a driveway??? That's a luxury for sure!! Last time I was there all I saw was on street parking with folding chairs marking "reserved" spots.
The roll off dumpster is by far cheaper to have since it doesn't require a third and fourth piece of equipment (crane and trailer) to load it. Have you considered contacting a general contractor to have the dirt hauled away? One man's trash.........
Oh, how are you gonna load this dumpster?
