Help with sway in a tall and long deck.

I don't think the look is offensive. Sort of a woody roller coaster or old railroad trestle feel but if you have windows on the lower area of the house I can see how all the wood could block the view. Pretty... I'm a fan of steel. Maybe diagonal cables or steel rods.

I like Pilot Danes suggestion of using cable. Aircraft cable is in incredibly strong. Fastened with big I bolts and turnbuckles to pick up slack you can use many of them without being that noticeable. I know of some 3/16" aircraft cable rated at 4200lbs and its available clear coated. 1/4" takes you to 7000lbs
