Broken wood board on garage door
While backing up into my garage I broke the bottom wood board of my garage door. Garage door still work fine, I just want to avoid replacing the bottom board. How would I repair it, do I need a bracket of some sort of just nail it or bolt it?
Thanks a lot

Welcome to the forums.
You might be able to glue the break back together but I don't know about where the vertical piece bolts in... I would be thinking about replacing.

Whatever you do will be temporary until you can replace the door or have the bottom panel replaced. I would, in addition to gluing, bring all the pieces together and screw a flat T brace on the inside incorporating the vertical stile and the bottom rail to hold it all together. Another piece of flat steel across the broken rail to the right will help keep it together, as well.

Unless you can get a replacement panel for the bottom of your door, I'd recommend replacing it with a steel door. Here in the S.E. it's rare to see a new wooded garage door. The sun is hard on the paint and the rain/humidity is rough on any exposed/unpainted wood. I don't know if that's an issue on the west coast. The metal doors also have a longer life span ...... as long as you don't run the car into them
To help wooden doors have a longer life we always coated the backside with 1 coat of poly. If all the wood [and masonite] is sealed it's harder for the door to absorb moisture.

PL400 or PL Advanced is a superior adhesive. Comes in a caulking tube, so you will need a caulk gun. Don't forget to get the T and flat braces to screw and hold it all together. Use 1" screws to keep them from going all the way through.
