Any ideas on installing an outdoor ceiling fan?
Just finished a pavilion over the patio; next step is to install a ceiling fan. I want the fan to be centered, but the issue is that the roof rafters meet the ridge-beam right where I would do the install.
Any ideas on how to go about this installation? I'm assuming I'll have to build a wooden box to hold the electrical fan ceiling box, but I'm stumped how to proceed.
I definitely want it centered; don't want to go on one side or the other on the rafters.
Please see attached photos, and as always...THANK YOU!!

What size are those boards? They don't look like standard 2x lumber.
If the ridge beam was a standard sized 2x piece of lumber they make ceiling fan electrical boxes that straddle them. You can also surface mount a box to the ridge boards with long screws.
