Hi all,

I'm interested in building a couple of decks using lightweight concrete (I think), finished off to show the pea gravel aggregate. This technique is used in apartment complexes for the balconies. I'm a welder so building the steel frame is no problem, and I have looked at existing apartment balconies to see the placement of the underside support steel, and need help finding information concerning the lightweight concrete.

Doew anyone know if lightweight concrete is avalable in a sack? Each deck will use about 3/4 yard (8'x16'x2") so mixing won't be an issue. Also info about mixing, handling and finishing the lightweight concrete product will be appreciated. I'm in the Dallas Tx area.

Dave,

I really think you would get more guidance if you post your questions in the Brick and Masonry Forum. Those guys work with concrete all the time.
