Question

Would it not be easier to build a deck 10x25 useing
2x6's on the floor? And is it better to rebuild a bad deck that has rotted wood on top but posts are in perfect condition? Are start from scratch.

Easier to use 2x6 decking than WHAT?

If your posts are OK, leave them. If the girders are OK, leave them. If the joists are OK, leave them. If the deck boards are rotten, REPLACE them!

It depends on your definition of easier. If you are putting the deck boards along the 10' dimension for a 25' width, you would need about 86 2X4's or 55 2X6's. Therefore there are fewer boards to handle, but they are heavier.

You did not mention price, but you might want to compare price of 2X4's vs 2X6's, plus it would take fewer deck screws for the 2X6's.

If, between Lefty and me, we have not answered your question, then come back and define easy for us.
